Secco Finland, a company based in Jyväskylä, has achieved rapid international growth by making funky design articles out of materials that many people regard as waste.

English Language Management Tmi is owned and operated by Graham Burns, a native English language teacher and intercultural communications trainer from the UK. "I can offer English language teaching and intercultural communications training for individuals or groups whether it be for business, studies or pleasure," says Burns, "either face-to-face or on-line. Burns has familiarised himself with the services of the Jyväskylä Regional Development Company Jykes Ltd., its international services and Luotsi.

Mecania Automation Oy located in Palokka, Jyväskylä, found a german business partner through Jykes's Euro Challenge -programme. Mecania Automation manufactures components' processing equipment for light machine construction industry and also operates as a contract manufacturer. When Matti Kyllönen, CEO of Mecania Automation was contacted from Jykes and asked whether he was interested in internationalising his business, he answered yes out of curiosity.

Ficote Ltd is a company based in the Jyväskylä region, manufacturing custom-made sewer cleaning vehicles as its main product. Aware of the pressure for growth in the field of environmental care, Ficote took part in a Jykes development project for companies in the wood and steel industry with the aim of increasing the company's production capacity to meet the growing demand.
